Navratri 2026: What the Stars Whisper During the Nine Nights of the Divine Feminine

Navratri is a period of energetic transition. For nine nights, we turn inward, worship the Divine Feminine and consciously make space for renewal. From an astrological and spiritual perspective, Navratri is a powerful time to pause, cleanse and realign ourselves with the energies we wish to carry into the next phase of our lives. As a spiritual healer, I see Navratri as an opportunity to work not only with prayer and devotion, but also with our own inner energy. The planets and stars may influence the energetic landscape, but how we respond to that energy remains within our hands.

A Time to Release Before We Receive

The deeper symbolism of Navratri is transformation. Before invoking abundance, we are asked to release what has become stagnant – old fears, unhealthy attachments, unresolved emotions and patterns that no longer serve us. Astrologically, this is an especially meaningful period for introspection. The Moon governs our emotional world while the planetary influences around us can bring hidden thoughts and feelings to the surface. You may find yourself revisiting old memories, questioning relationships or feeling an unexpected desire to change direction.

The Nine Nights, Nine Energies

Each night of Navratri represents a different manifestation of Shakti. Spiritually, these forms can also be understood as different qualities we need to cultivate within ourselves – strength, courage, wisdom, compassion, discipline and abundance.

This makes Navratri an ideal time to ask ourselves nine simple questions:

  • What am I ready to release?
  • What am I ready to forgive?
  • What deserves my energy?
  • Where do I need courage?
  • Where do I need boundaries?
  • What am I afraid to begin?
  • What am I grateful for?
  • What do I wish to create?
  • And finally, who am I becoming?

These questions can be more powerful than any prediction.

Let the Light Begin Within

The most beautiful lesson of Navratri is that Shakti is not something outside us. The Divine Feminine is also the strength within us – the ability to begin again, to stand up after setbacks, to protect our peace and to create something new.

This Navratri, light your diya not only for prosperity, but also for clarity.

Pray not merely for circumstances to change, but for the wisdom to navigate them.

And as the nine nights unfold, remember: the stars may influence the energy around us, but our consciousness determines how we walk through it.

5 Things to Do During Navratri Pooja

  1. Begin with a clean and peaceful space: Before beginning your Pooja, clean the area where you will place the Diya and Maa Durga’s idol or image. A clean physical space helps create a sense of calm and makes the ritual more mindful. Light a Diya and, if you wish, use natural incense or Dhoop to create a sacred atmosphere.
  2. Establish a Sankalp: Navratri is an ideal time to set a clear intention. Before starting your Pooja, sit quietly for a few moments and make a personal Sankalp; it could be for inner peace, healing, strength, clarity or the courage to let go of something that is holding you back. The intention behind the ritual is as important as the ritual itself.
  3. Offer something to the Divine Feminine every day: You don’t need elaborate offerings. Fresh flowers, fruits, water, seasonal food or a simple homemade Prasad offered with devotion are enough. What matters is the consciousness with which you offer it. If you are observing a fast, keep your food simple and nourishing rather than treating fasting as punishment.
  4. Chant a mantra and spend a few minutes in silence: Choose one mantra and repeat it mindfully rather than trying to perform several rituals mechanically. Durga Mantra, Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu or simply chanting “Om Dum Durgaye Namah” can become part of your daily practice. After chanting, sit silently for a few minutes and observe your thoughts.
  5. End the Pooja with gratitude and an act of kindness: Navratri is not only about asking for blessings; it is also about becoming a source of positive energy for others. Feed someone, help someone in need, offer respect to elders, support a woman around you or simply perform an act of kindness without expecting anything in return. End your Pooja by expressing gratitude for what you already have.

The essence of Navratri is not in how elaborate our rituals are, but in how sincerely we connect with the energy of Shakti. Let the nine nights become nine opportunities to cleanse, reconnect and awaken the strength that already exists within you.
